Belkin SoundForm Elite Review: A Smart Speaker with Built-In Wireless Charging

Belkin is known for its line of iPhone accessories, including wireless chargers. One of the company’s latest offerings is unique in that it combines the wireless charging option with a home speaker.

Belkin’s elite SoundForm + Wireless Charger intelligent speaker system was launched in May and cost $300.

Soundform Elite has been developed in collaboration with Devialet’s sound pioneers to provide a meaningful sound experience. They’ve combined their exceptional acoustic architecture with fast wireless charging and high-end design to create a powerful, intelligent loudspeaker system for your home. It also allows you to play and control your music while enjoying the exceptional sound that fills a room in every part of your home. Connect the speakerphone to a Google Wizard and enjoy hands-free communication with the Smart Wizard of your choice.

SoundForm Elite Belkin looks like a black egg with a small diagonal piece in the top. It is undoubtedly attractive with its beautiful fabric upholstery and five tactile buttons at the front. It takes advantage of its small size by offering a wireless charging cradle for your smartphones for relaxation.

On the back of the SoundForm Elite there is a separate connector for an extra power cord and power supply. So if you thought about putting the audio device through a 3.5 mm jack, you were unlucky. SoundForm Elite is a web or Bluetooth application that uses Bluetooth 5.0, and the WiFi configuration is done with the Google application for Android and iOS.

Two holes for the distant field microphone are located on either side of the touch switches: Bluetooth, turn down the volume, play/pause, increase the volume and mute the microphone. Although it is quite difficult to see the icons of each button and recognize where one starts and the other ends, you have to learn exactly each position.

As soon as the Devialet logo is placed on the angled side of the speaker, the device instinctively starts charging if it supports wireless charging. Although this is a high-end 10W charger filled with Google Pixel 3XL, performance is certainly dependent on your phone’s battery capacity and supported charging speed. It’s a nice addition, but also a nice bedside companion with a diagonal stand placed in a protruding angle to see the inactive screen of your phone at a glance.

Everything is set up directly in the Google application; the Google wizard takes care of the weightlifting. When you wake SoundForm Elite with Google’s OK alarm word, you can play titles from the streaming service of your choice and manage smart home devices, such as setting reminders, checking calendars, intelligent backlighting, confirming facts, and more.

Although most people still prefer Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant remains an excellent assistant and works efficiently on Belkin SoundForm Elite. The microphones also respond and hear the trigger phrase in a fantastic way, even when the music is at the highest level.

Belkin’s SoundForm Elite makes a shocking first impression with its 35mm full-range driver and 2x70mm woofer. For a small loudspeaker that fits on a bedside cabinet thanks to its load support, this thing is strong. You’ll be surprised where all that power comes from.

Part of the power comes from Devialet’s intelligent push-pull woofer configuration, which uses a series of two speakers to move the air and bring out the bass. It’s amazing that the push-push system reduces the vibration of the speaker itself, creating a clearer, more responsive bass sound. Here it has a dual purpose, as the reduced low frequency vibrations do not change the contact point of the wireless charging system.

Although the bass makes a good impression, the rest of the sound seems to be broken compared to the rest. There is a bit of shine at the ends, but the midfield looks flat and far away.

Elite Belkin SoundForm is available for $299.99. While Belkin’s SoundForm Elite is packed with connectivity features and audio support from Maestro Devialet, it does nothing better than the Amazon Echo Studio for $199.99, with the exception of a built-in wireless quick charger.

Belkin’s SoundForm Elite Hi-Fi is a little disappointing in many ways, including B. Exaggerated bass, a completely hollow midrange and no AirPlay or pairing two speakers in a stereo system. However, wireless charging is useful.
